In order to mitigate the influence of atmospheric turbulence on coherent optical communications, two technical methods are currently used, namely "large aperture telescope + single aperture adaptive optics" and "phased array technology." Compared with the first kind of technology, the phased array technology has the advantages of small telescope size, low cost and high reliability. In phased array-based spatially coherent optical communication systems, the receive beam is split into multiple beams by the receive array. Therefore, it is very important how to efficiently synthesize a plurality of sub-beams carrying communication signals to a laser beam. In response to this problem, the research group proposed a coherent polarization synthesis technology based on optical fiber devices. The two linearly polarized light beams whose polarization states are perpendicular to each other can be combined into one beam by using a fiber polarization beam combiner. Due to the variation of the phase difference of the input beam, the synthesized beam is in any polarization state (Fig. In order to control the synthesized light beam to be linearly polarized light for next-stage synthesis or for demodulation of communication signals, the subject group separately proposed two methods of phase control (Fig. B) and polarization control (Fig. C) Theoretical analysis and experimental verification.
