Every car company was talking about China, and the debut of the new car had a package of Chinese plans, demonstrating the introduction of new technologies for the first time. China; PSA Peugeot Citroen even used Chinese to greet Chinese reporters at the launch ceremony. The "Popular Night" talked to China on the statements made by the presidents of Volkswagen's brands. When you visit it or watch it, you will have such feelings: No China, no car.

It is not how beautiful China is. In fact, the Chinese auto market is also declining this year, and the growth rate has slowed down significantly. This slowdown is seen by many Chinese automakers, such as the end of the world. In the eyes of Europeans, on the contrary, it is simply incredible that China is still growing! European cars really do not give power this year. Apart from Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and several other car companies, other brands are struggling, such as PSA and Fiat. Waiting for a renaissance in Europe is a long way to go. It will be treasured in China and will grow following China’s growth. It seems to be the most viable option at present. Under this major premise, all aspects of resources naturally have to be tilted toward China.

The European reporter was quite upset about this. This is a human condition. In an international auto show held in Paris, China is all said to be faceless. At the press conference, people finally could not help but ask: The Chinese market will implement market protection policies. Is it necessary to invest so much resources there? This Volkswagen executive is not stupid. It details the growth of the Chinese market in recent years, contributing to the mass of new car sales, and stressed that the Chinese market will only become more important in the future.

This European colleague is quite ignorant of China, and it is no exaggeration to say that the Chinese automobile market is the most open market on the earth, and its degree of opening is much higher than that of the United States and Europe, not to mention Japan and South Korea. Take a look at the top ten models of monthly sales in Europe, with more than 80% being European car manufacturers. In the United States, when GM, Ford, and Chrysler were forced by Toyota to complete their depletion, the United States rushed to force Toyota's recall until the GM was successfully restructured. Ford made a profit and then let go. As for Japan and South Korea, the strong national atmosphere makes it impossible for non-national vehicles to be sold, and the government naturally does not need protection.

In contrast, in China, the top five car companies and all-in-one joint-venture car companies, ranking the top ten, will appear one or two self-owned brands of “soup sauce”. Moreover, most of these "soy sauce" production models are concentrated in the entry-level market below 80,000 yuan, and the profits are poor. Some people may say that the joint-venture vehicle company has half of the Chinese shares, which counts as Chinese companies. This is a typical wishful thinking. When interviewing foreign executives, we have heard this statement more than once: What about our factory in Shanghai, China? How is our production base in Wuhan, China?

If China wants to have a production base, it still needs technology and R&D capabilities. The answer is self-evident. However, there isn't a silly thing to mix in the rivers and lakes. When you think someone is silly, you may be even more stupid. With smart technology held by foreign parties, even with the most successful Shanghai GM, the technology is still firmly controlled by foreigners and will only be given to you when needed. In order to avoid giving consumers a bad impression, they put on the Chinese elements, the so-called "localization" and "Chinese-style".

Therefore, do not be happy for the Paris Motor Show which is full of “China”, and don’t wait to declare that the Paris Motor Show has since surnamed “Middle”. This is something that the character has not yet seen. To make a car, in the final analysis, you still have to rely on yourself and a strong independent brand.
