On February 25, 2012, the Ministry of Transport listed Jiangsu Province as a pilot province for the promotion of natural gas vehicles in the national road transport industry.
In recent years, Jiangsu Province has actively promoted new energy vehicles and encouraged enterprises to upgrade their LNG (liquefied natural gas) new energy buses to passenger lines with a single trip within 300 kilometers. At present, passenger transport enterprises in Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou and Nantong have started to launch nearly 100 LNG new energy buses from Suzhou to Wuxi, Suzhou to Zhangjiagang, Changzhou to Taizhou, and Changzhou to Nantong.
During the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan†period, Jiangsu Province will launch pilot projects for LNG vehicles in inter-city road passenger transport buses, tourist chartered buses, and fixed-line trucks in accordance with the principles of “industry guidance, market allocation, enterprise operation, and policy supportâ€. Promote the establishment and improvement of low-carbon transportation system in Jiangsu Province, and strive to reach more than 6,000 LNG vehicles by the end of 2015.
