Liebherr first tried to drive electric drive in the field of mineral processing

The competitive advantages of Liebherr electric drive products: high torque, light weight and compact design.

Shanghai, China, November 2016 - Last year, Liebherr's newly developed mobile electric drive (FAT325) further enriched its range of parts and components. The first electric drive has been successfully applied at a customer in Austria. This time, BaumaChina2016 is the first appearance of FAT325 in the Chinese market.

With the advent of the new FAT325 in 2015, Liebherr has ushered in a new partner for the hydraulic travel drive: the electric drive version. This development meets the growing demand for electric crawler vehicles. On the other hand, since the electric drive does not require hydraulic lines and hydraulic oil, it meets the requirements of environmental protection technology.

In 2015, Liebherr provided the complete transmission system for the first time – from frequency converters and motors to travel-driven gear units. In cooperation with the SBM Mineral Processing Company of the MFL Group, the first mobile electric drive in the summer of 2016 was successfully operated in the field of mineral processing. This Austrian company is a leading supplier of mobile crushers.

A key part of working with SBM is the design of each component. Reducers, motors and frequency converters are tailored for crawler mobile devices. Liebherr's first components were delivered in June 2016 and installed on SBM's REMAX1111 mobile crusher. During the commissioning phase, SBM received strong support from the Liebherr component team. The component program was successfully validated and put into formal work in various tests, including steering at 30°.

With this component solution, SBM has benefited a lot, especially in the special design of motor windings and rotor design with permanent magnet technology. This solution ensures high torque in extremely compact design conditions. The compact design allows for a customized layout of the drive system for a limited installation space on the machine. The design of the reducer is also unique, ensuring uniform load distribution at different levels, resulting in high power and torque density. The main bearing has an integrated design. Therefore, a long service life is achieved by reducing the number of components.

Liebherr's complete drive system features IP67 protection and a durable sealing system that protects against environmental factors such as dust and water during normal operation. Each system is also optimized for specific environmental conditions. This feature is the focus of SBM's selection of its component suppliers. “Our pulverizers are used in extreme environments around the world, such as high temperatures, coarse mud, large dust, etc. So we are willing to work with companies that have experience in this area because they know how such environmental conditions will bring to technology and parts. The impact," explains Mr. Almer, who is the mobile device division manager at SBM. With the success of the first project, SBM and Liebherr are currently considering the use of Liebherr mobile electric drives for other equipment.

Control Cabinet

QYK control cabinet supplies AC power for the Submersible pump system, and it equipped with PCC or DPCC protective control equipment. It can protect the down-hole pump system from circuit, over current, under-load, mono-phase and bring about a manual or automatic start on or shut down.

Environmental condition: the temperature ranges from -55℃ to +40℃, and it also can be produced according to the requirement from customers.
