China's first high-pressure roller mill off the assembly line
China's first high-pressure roller mill has been successfully developed and manufactured by CITIC Heavy Machinery, marking a major breakthrough in the localization of advanced metallurgical grinding technology. This innovative equipment is now considered a key player in fine grinding processes within the global metallurgy industry. The product is entirely developed with independent intellectual property rights, making it a true "China First" in this field.
The high-pressure roller mill, designed to process iron concentrate and meet pellet preparation standards, was initially introduced in European countries at the beginning of this century. For many years, only two German models were available in China, limiting domestic access to this cutting-edge technology. Now, with CITIC Heavy Machinery's successful development, China is no longer dependent on foreign suppliers for this critical equipment.
The newly developed roller mill features a roller diameter of 1.2 meters and can process up to 180 tons of ore per hour, significantly improving efficiency and reducing energy consumption. It has already been deployed in the pellet milling project at the Sintering Plant of Changzhi Iron and Steel Group. This implementation is expected to cut steelmaking costs by over 10 million yuan annually for the company, demonstrating its economic and operational benefits.
CITIC Heavy Machinery has also filed for national patents for the technology, signaling its commitment to protecting and promoting domestic innovation. Looking ahead, the company plans to fully promote the product across the domestic metallurgical market, aiming to replace imported alternatives and further strengthen China's position in the global mining and metallurgy sector.
