The No. 1 Project on the Ancient Silk Road --- Aksu Hua Jinda Fertilizer Engineering Project of the "Tenth Five-Year" Key Project
Kuqa County, located north of the Taklimakan Desert in southern Xinjiang, is a historically significant location on the ancient Silk Road. It was once the capital of the ancient kingdom of Kucha and has long been known for its cultural heritage, though it lacked a strong industrial base. In August 2003, a new chapter began when a large-scale fertilizer project was launched five kilometers east of Kuqa, along National Highway 314. Colorful flags waved, and gongs echoed as locals, many of whom had lived there for generations, watched with curiosity—wondering what this development would bring.
Two years later, on November 22, 2005, Cheng Yaoming, executive deputy chief of the Aksu Huajin Chemical Fertilizer Engineering Command from Liaoning Huajin Chemical (Group) Co., Ltd., explained the importance of the project: "The Huajinda Chemical Fertilizer Project is a key initiative in Xinjiang and the largest foreign-invested project in Aksu. At the time, the region's only nitrogen fertilizer plant, Zep Fertilizer, could not meet the demand for urea. Due to poor transportation, urea from northern Xinjiang and the mainland was difficult to deliver to the south. With the discovery of abundant natural gas in southern Xinjiang, the regional and Aksu governments considered building a large urea plant. When the National Development and Reform Commission approved the project in early 2002, Aksu immediately prioritized it as its top project."
The Aksu Huajinda Fertilizer Plant was part of a larger initiative by China Petrochemical Corporation, including a 300,000-ton synthetic ammonia and 520,000-ton urea plant. These two facilities were among the first 13 large fertilizer plants introduced by Premier Zhou Enlai in 1973. However, due to outdated raw material systems, they had not been fully utilized until this relocation and reinstallation project.
The construction was particularly challenging because the equipment had to be dismantled and transported from Panjin City, Liaoning, to Kuqa—a journey of over 5,000 kilometers. The old devices had undergone multiple technical upgrades, making it difficult to match them with original blueprints. Xu Jian, deputy general manager of the China Chemical Engineering 9th Construction Company, recalled: "Thanks to our long-term collaboration with Huajin Group, we managed to complete the demolition and reinstallation using experience and partial blueprints. As the fifth large fertilizer plant we've built, our expertise and dedication played a crucial role."
The project cost just 1.1 billion yuan, significantly lower than the typical 2–3 billion required for similar projects. This made it a strategic investment for western development. Unlike previous relocations, such as the one from Europe to Ningxia, this was the first time two large chemical units were combined into one, a feat that required careful planning and execution.
After months of transport and installation, the project was completed in just 1 year and 8 months. On November 9 of this year, the gasifier of the synthetic ammonia system was successfully ignited, marking the start of the trial phase. The plant is now undergoing final checks and is expected to begin producing urea by mid-December.
This project fills a critical gap in southern Xinjiang’s industrial infrastructure and marks the beginning of large-scale development in the region. Once operational, Huajin Chemical will become China’s largest and most competitive fertilizer company. Jiuhua Construction also plans to establish a branch in southern Xinjiang, continuing its expansion. This project represents not only a step forward for Xinjiang but also a revival of old industrial enterprises in the northeast.

1. PE Water Supply Pipe Production Line
This production line can produce pipes with a diameter range of 16mm to 1200mm. For example, the XDC-HDPE63 model can produce pipes with a diameter of 16-63mm, with a maximum output of 200 kg/h.
It is designed for high-speed production and features a stable and simple operation. The pipes produced have smooth inner walls, extremely low friction coefficients, good flexibility, high impact strength, and corrosion resistance.
Widely used in municipal water supply systems, building water supply systems, and industrial water treatment systems.

2. PE Gas Pipe Production Line
Similar to the water supply pipe production line, it can produce pipes with a diameter range of 16mm to 1200mm. The XDC-HDPE160 model, for instance, can produce pipes with a diameter of 63-160mm, with a maximum output of 300 kg/h.
The production line is equipped with advanced extruders and precision die heads to ensure the quality of the pipes. The pipes have good flexibility, high impact strength, and corrosion resistance.
Used for gas transportation piping systems in various industries.

3. PE Communication Pipe Production Line
This production line is designed to produce pipes with a diameter range of 16mm to 1200mm. The WR-630 model can produce pipes with a diameter of 250-630mm, with a maximum output of 1100-1200 kg/h.
It features a high degree of automation and optimized screw structure, ensuring stable production efficiency. The pipes produced have excellent corrosion resistance, compression resistance, and impact resistance.
Suitable for power communication systems.

4. PE Silicone Core Pipe Production Line
This production line can produce pipes with a diameter range of 16mm to 1200mm. The pipes have a silicone solid lubricant on the inner wall.
The silicone core pipe is widely used in optical cable communication network systems for railways and highways. It has the advantages of being moisture-proof, insect-proof, anti-corrosion, and anti-aging.
Used in optical cable communication network systems.
