South China Netcom's domestic Kia "Jiahua" commercial vehicle, initially planned for a June release, might now arrive earlier in May. According to reports, the entire range of domestically produced Kia models will be equipped with the V6 3.5L engine and paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Standard features include a DVD system, automatic air conditioning, parking sensors, a smart computer, and cruise control. Industry experts believe that the launch of the Jiahua could challenge the high-end MPV market, directly competing with models like the Buick GL8 and Guang Ben Odyssey. The expected price range is around 250,000 yuan. Meanwhile, Volkswagen has announced that its Chinese version of the Phaeton sedan will officially enter the Chinese market in May. Priced between 800,000 and 1.6 million yuan, the top-of-the-line Phaeton features a W12 engine—a 6-liter, 12-cylinder gasoline engine producing 309 kW (420 hp) and 550 N·m of torque. It comes with a five-speed automatic transmission and 4MOTION four-wheel drive. Additionally, the Phaeton offers two other engine options: a 4.2L V8 producing 246 kW (335 hp) and a 3.2L V6 delivering 177 kW (241 hp). Both engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and standard 4MOTION all-wheel drive. In another development, FAW-Volkswagen has released the Audi A4 1.8T manual and 2.4T automatic models in Changchun, with an official launch scheduled for May. The 1.8T manual variant delivers 163 hp (120 kW), a top speed of 228 km/h, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. The 2.4T automatic model produces 170 hp (125 kW), has a top speed of 222 km/h, and features Audi’s unique continuously variable/manual hybrid transmission. Since its April 2003 debut, the Audi A4 has sold over 8,173 units within eight months. Dongfeng Honda's CR-V, an urban off-road vehicle developed by Honda Motor Co., has achieved global sales of more than 1.7 million units. In China, the imported CR-V has sold over 10,000 units in the past two years. Equipped with a new 2.0L i-VTEC engine and full-time four-wheel drive, the CR-V is priced at 239,800 yuan.
