Polaris Plus Skylights Beverly Converts New 2004 Models

In 2004, Foxconn made a notable change to the logo of Polaris Plus Skylights, marking a new chapter for the model. Just like any classic car model, it inevitably goes through a transformation from "new car" to "revised model." When a vehicle is first introduced, it's considered a new car. However, when improvements are made and released based on the original design, these are typically labeled as "X×" or "0×" models—essentially new versions. For example, the Polaris series evolved from the end of 2000 to the 03 Bora and then to the 04 Bora. Similarly, the Maxima went from the original Maxima to Maxima II, and eventually to the 04 Maxima. Even globally renowned models often go through multiple generations, sometimes up to the sixth. To keep a classic model relevant and extend its lifespan, continuous improvements are essential. The "04" was like an old bottle with new wine—its appearance might not have changed much, but the content inside had been upgraded. Last year, the "03 models" brought subtle changes in design and improved features without a significant price increase. So, what new elements did the 04 models bring into the mix? The next day, the Fukang logo underwent a change, and Dongfeng Citroen officially launched the 2004 Beverly model at the same price as the 03 version. The 04 Fukang featured numerous internal and external updates. Crystal headlights gave it a more modern look, while braking systems were enhanced with added airbags and a 10% larger radiator grille. The most significant change was the switch from the "Shuangfeiyan" logo to the "Dongfeng Citroen" brand name. The trunk lid now bore "Dongfeng Citroen" at the top left, the middle displayed the Citroen double-character logo, and the upper right showed "Fulong" or "Fukang 988," emphasizing the brand’s identity. The 04 Beverly marked the third major redesign in the model’s history, moving far beyond its original ZX prototype. Meanwhile, the 2004 Chollima Maxima, launched on New Year's Day, saw the addition of remote central locking and rear power windows compared to the Maxima II, while the price dropped by 7,000 yuan to 13,000 yuan. Notably, the 1.3-liter automatic version, which debuted in October 2003, was reduced from 93,800 to 85,800 yuan. The Maxima sedan has been very popular in Chengdu, with 1.3-liter to 1.6-liter models hitting record sales. Some 1.3-liter models even faced shortages. Throughout 2003, the Maxima family introduced a new model roughly every three months. The 04 Maxima was the sixth new model launched by Dongfeng Yueda Kia. Meanwhile, FAW-Volkswagen announced that the 2004 1.6-liter Bora would debut in Chengdu this week. Compared to the previous 1.6-liter Bora, the 04 model added a sunroof, though the price remains unannounced. Since its launch last year, the 1.6-liter Bora has become a favorite among Chengdu car enthusiasts due to its competitive pricing. However, many consumers wanted a sunroof option to elevate the car’s status, making the 04 sunroof version highly anticipated. On the luxury side, the 2004 Audi A6, although announced in October 2003, only officially arrived in Chengdu by the end of December 2003. The 04 model was an upgraded version, featuring two new sports and executive variants on the 2.4L and 2.8L engines. The 2.8L executive version was priced at 569,700 yuan, the 2.4L executive at 546,200 yuan, and the 2.4L sports model at 479,600 yuan. Despite being 10,000 to 24,000 yuan more expensive than the previous version, the 2004 Audi A6 offered even more luxurious features. It is currently widely available in Chengdu, with orders already coming in for this spring.
