The largest Kawasaki solar power station in Japan will operate next month

It is reported that Kawasaki City and Tokyo Electric Power Co., Ltd. have built solar power stations in the two cities of Fushima-cho and Fando in Kawasaki. Among them, 11 hectares of land for the construction of the floating island solar power station is located in the original landfill site in Kawasaki City. Solar panels have been completed and will be put into operation in the middle of next month. Each solar panel has a width of about 1 meter and a length of about 1.30 meters. The total number of solar panels is 38,000. The power generation capacity of the power station is about 7.4 million kWh, which is equivalent to the total annual electricity consumption of 2,000 ordinary families.

In addition, the fan island solar power station is expected to begin operation in December this year. By then, the total generating capacity of the two power stations will reach 21 million kwh, which will become the largest solar power station in Japan.

The Kawasaki city government plans to open an environmental problem learning facility near the floating island solar power station on the 6th of next month, and set up a visit study course for ordinary people.
