China's first Euro VI diesel engine was born in Yuchai

According to the emission test conducted by the National Car Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, the main emission indicators of the European ESC emission test are nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions of 307.3 mg/kW.h and particulate emissions of 6.5 mg/kW.h, which is lower than that of Europe. China's automobile emission regulations follow the relevant European regulations, and it plans to implement the equivalent of Euro IV's 4th emission regulations on January 1, 2012. Guangxi Yuchai has completed the development of Euro VI diesel engines in two phases in advance. This will improve China's development. It is of great significance to efficiently clean diesel engine technology's independent research and development capabilities and improve the international competitiveness of China's diesel engine products. It has important social benefits for promoting China's implementation of strict emission regulations, reducing harmful emissions from automobiles, and improving the atmospheric environment.

The diesel engine is jointly developed by Guangxi Yuchai and the Tianjin University’s State Key Laboratory of Internal Combustion Engine Combustion, adopting a low-temperature combustion technology route with completely independent intellectual property rights, using a two-stage booster system in series, and medium-strength cooling exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) technology. Through multi-injection strategy control of high-pressure common-rail fuel injection system, high-efficiency clean combustion is achieved, NOx and particulate emissions are simultaneously reduced in the cylinder, the original emission is close to Euro V emission level, and the selective reduction SCR technology and particle filter DPF are further reduced. With NOx and particulate emissions, particulate filters are assisted with exhaust heat management and injection strategy control. As the low-temperature combustion technology in the machine effectively reduces the original emissions, the consumption of SCR for reducing NOx emissions from SCR is only equivalent to 1/2-2/3 of the National 4 diesel engine, which will greatly reduce the use cost of urea, and it is convenient. Users, reduce the dependence on the construction of urea adding devices. At present, European-developed Euro VI engines commonly use fuel injection systems with fuel injection pressures of 220 MPa (megapascals) or more. The combustion system uses low-temperature combustion technology to reduce the pressure requirements on the injection fuel. The prototype's common-rail fuel injection system sprays The oil pressure is only 180MPa (megapascals), which is suitable for China's national conditions and is conducive to future popularization and application.

This same machine is the cooperation between Guangxi Yuchai and Tianjin University. After four years of research, it was successfully developed. It has overcome several key technical problems of Euro VI diesel engines, such as two-stage supercharging technology, cooling exhaust gas recirculation technology, low-temperature combustion technology, and DPF-assisted regeneration control strategy, and successfully developed the first domestic two-stage supercharged commercial vehicle diesel engine. , Research has formed a variety of technical solutions for the development of the National 4 diesel engine. In 2010, it also took the lead in proposing a low-temperature combustion technology line for medium-intensity EGR diesel engines in the international arena, and established an independent and highly efficient clean diesel engine technology strategy.

Guangxi Yuchai is the main engine R&D and production base in China. It has a state-level enterprise technology center and a national accredited laboratory. Among them, the enterprise technology center ranks the 27th in the country and ranks first in the industry. In recent years, it has obtained more than 800 national authorized patents. . The 5th engine equivalent to Euro V standard developed and produced by Yuchai was successfully developed in 2007. In 2010, it was used in batches on buses in Beijing. This is also the country's first batch of 5 engines used in the market, which has promoted the progress of the industry's green power.
