The self-operated three-way thermostat valve is an energy-efficient device designed to automatically regulate temperature based on the thermal changes of the controlled medium, without requiring external power. This integrated system combines measurement, control, and actuation functions, making it ideal for use in heat exchangers, air conditioning systems, diesel engines, air compressors, lubrication units, gas turbines, and power generation equipment. It is commonly used for temperature control of oil, water, and other media in cooling systems. The working principle of the three-way thermostat valve relies on the incompressibility of liquid and its thermal expansion or contraction properties. As the temperature of the medium changes, the internal mechanism adjusts accordingly to maintain the desired temperature. Key features of the three-way thermostat valve include: 1. The temperature-sensing element is built into the valve body, eliminating the need for an external sensor. 2. The valve offers multiple inlet and outlet configurations, allowing flexible installation. 3. It is compact and lightweight, making it easy to handle and install. 4. No external power source is required, which simplifies operation and maintenance. 5. The valve provides high precision and smooth temperature control. 6. An emergency manual control device is included for situations where automatic function fails. Specifications include a range from DN15 to DN200 mm, suitable for various applications. Based on the valve structure, it can be classified into two types: rotary valves (for sizes ≥ DN50) and slide valves (for sizes ≤ DN50). Design parameters and temperature adjustment ranges are detailed in Tables 1 and 2 respectively. The LZF rotary valve thermostat installation types are outlined in Table 3. When selecting a three-way thermostat valve, consider the following points: 1. Identify whether the controlled medium is oil or water. 2. Calculate the flow rate of the controlled medium in m³/h. 3. Choose the appropriate size of the three-way thermostat based on the medium and flow rate. 4. Select the model according to the valve body material (copper or gray cast iron), connection type (flange, pipe thread, or tapered pipe thread), structure type (rotary or slide), and installation type (as shown in Table 3). 5. Depending on the flow direction through the three ports, the valve can be used for mixing or分流 (diverting) applications. 6. The primary function of the three-way thermostat is to mix two fluids at different temperatures, creating a third fluid with an intermediate temperature. The valve has two inlets (B for high-temperature fluid, C for low-temperature fluid) and one outlet (A), with the temperature sensing element located at the outlet. 7. A split-flow three-way valve divides the incoming fluid into two paths. When one outlet is closed, the other opens, allowing for bypass return or cooling. 8. The three-way thermostat can replace both a two-way valve and a three-way diverter. 9. There are six installation types available for rotary valves, ensuring compatibility with any piping configuration. 10. The valve should be installed in a location that allows easy access to the emergency manual control device. 11. To prevent clogging or blockage due to impurities, a filter should be installed upstream of the three-way thermostat.
