DIN 1629 carbon seamless steel pipes are cylindrical pipes manufactured from non-alloy materials designed to meet specific quality requirements. These pipes come in three primary grades: DIN 1629 ST 37.0, 44.0, and 52.0. Each grade differs in terms of chemical composition and mechanical properties. Depending on their grade, these pipes can be utilized in the production of pipes, vessels, equipment, fittings, and various other applications. Available in a wide range of sizes, these pipes have outer diameters that span from 10 mm to 324 mm, wall thicknesses ranging from 1 mm to 30 mm, and lengths up to 14,000 mm. The material composition of DIN 1629 includes carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, and sulfur. While the ST52.0 grade contains both silicon and manganese, the other grades do not. The carbon content varies across the grades, with ST37.0 at 0.17%, ST44.0 at 0.21%, and ST52.0 at 0.22%. These differences in carbon content directly impact the strength characteristics of the pipes. For instance, the minimum yield strength of ST37.0 is 235 MPa, with a tensile strength of up to 480 MPa; ST44.0 has a minimum yield strength of 275 MPa and a tensile strength of up to 550 MPa; and ST52.0 boasts a minimum yield strength of 355 MPa and a tensile strength of up to 650 MPa. Among the three grades, ST52.0 is considered the highest grade and also the most expensive. These pipes can undergo various heat treatments such as hot rolling, cold working, stress relief, annealing, or normalizing to enhance the product's hardness.
