On Tuesday, November 8th at 11:12 AM, Park Ridge police and fire departments responded to a traffic crash at Oakton and Cumberland. Upon arrival, officers found a 2007 Honda sedan had crashed into a house located at 901 Oakton St. There were two people in the vehicle. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The department has not yet released details about the victims, as they are waiting to notify the families first. The home at 901 Oakton was empty at the time of the accident.ÂAccording to initial reports, witnesses saw the Honda traveling southbound on Cumberland approaching Oakton. The vehicle continued through the intersection and struck a house on the south side of the street. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash and have called in specialized units for assistance.ÂThe Park Ridge Fire Department received help from firefighters in Niles and Des Plaines. Emergency crews worked quickly to secure the scene and ensure no additional hazards were present.ÂThe Park Ridge Police Department is working with the MCAT Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team to determine what led to the crash. Officials are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to contact local authorities.
