At 328 Tudor Court, Glencoe Fire Department was called to a roof fire involving several burning styrofoam pallets. The fire produced a large column of smoke, making it visible from a distance. Northfield and Winnetka crews arrived with ladders and hand lines positioned on the roof, while Glencoe and Northfield connected to hydrants. Wilmette brought hose and set up a hydrant but ultimately did not supply water to the scene.
Highwood and Highland Park also responded to the incident. One construction worker was taken by Glenview Ambulance 6 to Highland Park Hospital for evaluation.
Multiple fire engines were seen at the scene, including a Pierce Saber, a Smeal Quint, an E-ONE e-MAX, and a Pierce Impel. Firefighters worked aggressively to contain the blaze, with some climbing aerial ladders and others pulling hoses through heavy smoke. The scene was chaotic but well-coordinated, with multiple departments working together to control the fire.
Photos from the event show the intensity of the situation, with thick smoke rising from the roof and firefighters in action. You can view more images at shapirophotography.net.
