The layout, ventilation, smoke extraction and noise of the diesel generator room should be treated as close to the transformer room as possible when selecting the plane position of the machine room. The owner generally does not agree with this plan, but often The machine room is located in the basement. At this time, the following points should be noted when selecting the room location:

(1) The machine room must have one side against the outer wall, so that the equipment can be ventilated and exhausted easily.

(2) Attention should be paid to the lifting, handling and overhaul of the unit. General use of parking garage access channel as a transport channel, but if the channel is too small, should consider the location of the lifting hole.

(3) Avoid damp areas, and do not place them under or in the vicinity of frequently-accumulated places such as toilets, bathrooms, and pools, so as to prevent the operation of the units due to the overhaul of toilets or floor seepage.

The diesel generator set is a combination of a diesel engine and a synchronous alternator. The allowable rated power of the diesel engine is limited by the mechanical load and thermal load of the part. Therefore, the rated power that allows continuous operation is called the rated power; the diesel engine cannot exceed the rated power, otherwise it will shorten its service life and may even cause ACCIDENT.

The rated power of diesel engines; National standards stipulate that the rated power on the diesel engine nameplate is divided into the following four categories; 1) 15min power: that is, the rated power of the diesel engine allowed to run for 15min. In a short period of time, it may be overloaded and require calibration power with acceleration performance, such as the calibration power of diesel engines such as automobiles and motorcycles.

2) 1h power: The rated effective power of the diesel engine that is allowed to continue operating for 1 hour. Such as wheeled tractors, locomotives, ships and other diesel engine calibration power.

3) 12h power: The rated effective power that the diesel engine is allowed to continue operating for 12 hours, which is what we often say. Such as power station unit, engineering machinery diesel engine calibration power.

4) Continuous power: the rated power that the diesel engine allows to operate continuously for a long time.
