According to initial reports, a red car attempted to turn from Dundee Road onto Skokie Boulevard and collided head-on with a pickup truck. The passenger in the red car was killed instantly upon impact.
Following the incident, the North Regional Task Force Major Crash Assistance Team (NORTAF MCAT) arrived to conduct a thorough investigation at the scene. Once their work was complete, the damaged vehicle was moved to a remote parking area, where Northbrook firefighters used the Jaws of Life to carefully extract the victim.
