The reporter learned on June 30, 2011 that Eaton was once again selected as one of the "2011 (third) China Corporate Social Responsibility List" and won the "2011 China Social Responsibility Special Award". The list was announced at the 2011 China Corporate Social Responsibility Annual Conference held in Beijing.
The annual meeting was co-sponsored by a number of organizations including the China Association of Foreign Investment Enterprises, the China Consumer Protection Foundation, the China National Private Economics Research Association, and the China Association of Environmental Journalists. More than 300 government officials, experts, scholars and media reporters, including Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Chao, Deputy Director Hou Yunchun of the Development Research Center of the State Council, attended the ceremony. Curt Hutchins, president of Eaton’s Asia Pacific region, was also invited as a guest speaker to share his company’s experience on the theme of sustainable development and innovation.

The list includes three parts: the special award for social responsibility (domestic-funded enterprises), the special award for social responsibility (foreign-funded enterprises), and outstanding corporate social responsibility. Eaton has become one of the 12 foreign-funded enterprises that received special awards.
The evaluation of this list of companies is based on the "China's corporate social responsibility list expert evaluation system," covering corporate governance and ethical values, employment and employee rights protection, environmental protection and energy-saving emission reduction, product quality management, consumer rights protection, supply There are 10 major and 44 small indicators such as chain partnerships, promotion of China’s scientific and technological progress, tax contribution index, scientific and normative responsibility management system, and good public image. Only companies that have achieved outstanding performance in these areas have the honor to enter the top 100 list.
