How Does Our PSA Oxygen Generator Work?
Adsorption is a physical process that separates molecules. Our Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen generation systems produce oxygen by extracting it from nitrogen in the air. Air consists of about 20.9% oxygen and 78% nitrogen, along with other gases. Inside our oxygen generators, a vessel filled with a molecular sieve called zeolite is exposed to compressed air. Nitrogen molecules are adsorbed by the sieve, while oxygen passes through and is collected in an oxygen storage tank. Once pressure is released, the nitrogen is vented, and the cycle repeats in another vessel to maintain a continuous flow of oxygen.
