China has developed a high efficiency and energy saving coal-fired industrial boiler

According to the National Development and Reform Commission, the Coal Science Research Institute, with support from the National Science and Technology Research Project, has successfully developed a new high-efficiency pulverized coal boiler in the 4-20 tons per hour steam capacity range. This innovative technology is designed to replace traditional coal-fired boilers and can be widely deployed across various industrial sectors. The boiler features independent intellectual property rights and incorporates advanced technologies such as closed-loop operation, automated control, high-efficiency coal combustion, and in-furnace desulfurization. Its operational efficiency exceeds 86%, which is over 30% higher than that of conventional boilers. This significant improvement not only enhances energy utilization but also reduces environmental impact. The Development and Reform Commission highlights that these high-efficiency pulverized coal boilers offer multiple benefits, including high energy savings, low emissions, moderate investment costs, simple operation, and lower running expenses. These advantages make them an attractive alternative for industries seeking sustainable and cost-effective solutions. China currently operates over 500,000 industrial boilers, with a total steam output of approximately 1.8 million tons per hour. Out of these, around 480,000 are coal-fired boilers, making up about 85% of the total industrial boiler capacity. The average capacity of these boilers is just 3.4 tons per hour, indicating a large number of small-scale units spread across different regions. These boilers consume roughly 400 million tons of raw coal annually, highlighting the urgent need for more efficient and environmentally friendly alternatives. The introduction of this new high-efficiency pulverized coal boiler represents a major step forward in modernizing China's industrial energy infrastructure and reducing carbon emissions.
