Buffalo Grove receives flag flown in Afghanistan

On Monday evening, during a village board meeting in Buffalo Grove, the local fire department was honored with a U.S. flag that had been flown over the Base Defense Operation Center at Forward Camp Leatherneck in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. The flag was presented to Fire Chief Terrence Vavra by Marine Sgt. William Adam Chapman, who is the nephew of two Buffalo Grove firefighters, FF/PM Kevin Hauber and FF/PM James Hauber. The flag was flown in recognition of the Buffalo Grove Fire Department’s service and dedication. Sgt. Chapman, along with his uncles, made the journey from Afghanistan to present the flag in person, showing deep respect for their family and community. As the flag was handed over, it was clear that this gesture carried great meaning—not just for the department, but for the entire town. The event was captured by photographer Larry Shapiro, who documented several moments throughout the ceremony. One image shows Sgt. Chapman surrounded by his uncles, both members of the Buffalo Grove Fire Department, while another captures Chief Vavra accepting the flag. Additional photos show the crowd of firefighters and officials gathered to witness the historic moment. Chief Vavra expressed his gratitude during the meeting, noting that while it might seem like a small gesture, it was deeply meaningful. “What is striking to me is that this soldier thought about his uncles and the Buffalo Grove Fire Department while on duty,” he said. “Sergeant Chapman took the time to request this honor, and the base commanders approved it.” He added that such acts of recognition are a reminder of the sacrifices being made by service members every day. “When you look at this flag, you can’t help but feel proud of these men and women and the sacrifices they are making for us,” he said. The story was also covered by *The Daily Herald*, and you can read the full article [here](#). This touching moment highlights the strong bond between military service and the communities they protect.

Extrusion Grade TPEE

1. It has superior processing performance than TPU: low shrinkage rate, shorter molding cycle, and good demolding performance
2. It has both: high mechanical strength and high hardness while maintaining high elasticity and high aging resistance.
3. Excellent bending performance
4. Low temperature resistance in -35-50℃ and high temperature resistance, its aging resistance at 150℃ is stronger than TPU, TPR/TPE
5. Low long-term compression deformation rate.
