LAS VEGAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Autodesk University – Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) has unveiled a groundbreaking new platform called SeeControl, designed to empower the Internet of Things (IoT) by enabling customers to collect, analyze, and leverage data from remote products. Acquired in September 2015, SeeControl is now part of Autodesk's expanding IoT ecosystem, helping manufacturers enhance product performance and deliver innovative services to their customers.

“The landscape for manufacturing is evolving rapidly, especially in machinery and specialty vehicles,” said Brian Roepke, Senior Director of Product Lifecycle Management and IoT at Autodesk. “With SeeControl, we're equipping businesses with the tools they need to stay ahead—by optimizing current products and unlocking new service opportunities.”

The Internet of Things refers to a growing network of physical devices embedded with sensors, software, and connectivity that allow them to exchange data. When these devices are sold to end users, manufacturers can gather real-time usage data, leading to deeper insights and better customer engagement. These connected products also provide valuable feedback to designers and engineers, helping them refine future iterations and improve long-term performance.

For years, manufacturers have relied on Autodesk cloud solutions like Fusion 360 and PLM 360 to develop and manage connected products. Now, with the launch of SeeControl, Autodesk has enhanced its cloud-based Product Innovation Platform with advanced analytics, offering customers more intelligent, predictive monitoring and a stronger competitive edge.

SeeControl enables manufacturers to track real-world product performance and use live data to improve future designs. It helps keep systems running efficiently, predict potential failures before they occur, and schedule maintenance during low-impact times. This results in better service for end users and more informed decision-making for manufacturers.

What sets SeeControl apart from other platforms includes:

  • A true multi-tenant cloud solution, allowing companies to start quickly and easily.
  • Compatibility with any device and communication protocol, offering flexibility without vendor lock-in.
  • User-friendly interface with no-coding tools for device integration, data analysis, visualization, and business insights.

“Since acquiring SeeControl, we've worked hard to integrate it with our core services, including 3D visualization,” said Roepke. “By bringing live data into our engineering tools, we’re not only improving design processes but also giving customers capabilities they’ve never had before.”

Dave Keeley, Engineering Manager at TSM Control Systems, shared his excitement: “We were able to connect to SeeControl within days and immediately started gaining value from real-time data. We're looking forward to how this will help us grow and serve our customers even better in the future.”
