2013 Subaru expects global sales growth of 6.1%

Fuji Heavy Industries recently announced Subaru's 2013 auto production and sales plan. The details are as follows:

Subaru's domestic production of cars in Japan totaled 568,537 units in 2012. The company plans to produce 569,000 vehicles in Japan in 2013, which is basically the same as last year. Subaru's production of overseas plants in 2012 reached 184,783 units, which is planned to pass this year. The overseas factories produced 172,000 cars, which fell 6.9% year-on-year.

In 2012, Subaru's global vehicle production reached a cumulative total of 753,320 vehicles. The company expects its global vehicle production this year to fall to 741,000, a year-on-year decrease of 1.6%.

Subaru's domestic sales of cars in Japan last year totaled 177,715 units, of which 108,070 were sold by passenger cars. The company expects its sales of cars in Japan this year will drop 8.8% to 162,000 units, including sales of passenger cars. It will drop 1.9% year-on-year to 106,000 vehicles.

In 2012, Subaru sold 336,441 units in the United States. It expects sales of 365,000 units this year, an increase of 8.5% year-on-year. In 2012, Subaru's overseas sales totaled 528,897 units. Its overseas sales this year are expected to increase 11.2% year-on-year to 588. 000 vehicles.
