What are the factors that cause electromagnetic flowmeter error?

What causes the electromagnetic flowmeter error?

(1) The liquid in the tube is not full. When there is a very small amount of gas in the tube, the measurement result will deviate from the actual value, causing a small error; when there are many gases, the measurement value will be unstable and the output will shake. At this time, the measured value cannot be used as a correct result.

(2) The measured liquid contains solid components. It will cause the surface of the electrode to be contaminated, covering the electrode or lining, resulting in a reduction in the flow area and a gradual decrease in the flow rate. If the deposited layer has conductive material, the flow signal is likely to be short-circuited, causing the instrument to malfunction.

(3) Improper selection of electrode or grounding ring. The electrode is in contact with the fluid medium to be measured and the polarization voltage is generated by the electrochemical reaction of the measured medium. The ability of the electrode to reliably detect flow signals is critical to the performance of the flowmeter. The grounding ring forms an electrical connection with the medium and is connected through the grounding line and zero potential. When the process pipe connected to the sensor is a plastic pipe or an insulating coating, a grounding ring must be installed, otherwise the meter may not work properly. There are many kinds of electrodes and grounding rings. Please pay attention when selecting them.

Electromagnetic flowmeter is a widely used flow measurement instrument. It is often used in the measurement of wastewater and wastewater, and it is cost-effective. However, due to improper selection, installation, or improper use, the measurement results will be inaccurate and even damage the instrument.
