The first capabilities focus on early-stage planning and design, offering automation and AI-driven insights that simplify the exploration of design concepts, reduce repetitive tasks, and help evaluate environmental conditions around a building site. This allows architects to focus more on creative solutions.
This launch marks the beginning of what will be an ongoing development for the architecture, engineering, construction, and operations industry cloud. New features and enhancements will continue to be added regularly.

Included in Autodesk Forma’s initial capabilities are:
- **Contextual modeling** – Simplifies starting a new BIM project by allowing users to create a 3D model of the entire project area in minutes using their own data or purchased datasets.
- **Conceptual design capabilities** – Offers freeform tools for creating complex 3D designs quickly.
- **Automation** – Speeds up the early exploration of design concepts using parametric tools to generate multiple variations.
- **Machine learning** – Performs real-time environmental analyses such as sunlight, daylight, wind, and microclimate without requiring deep technical expertise.
- **Revit add-in** – Provides seamless file-less synchronization between Forma and Revit for detailed design and analysis.
